Julie Klimentos is a graduate of Goldsmith’s College, London where she received an Honors degree in FineArt/Textiles.
She spent the early part of her career working with top UK designers and architects creating cutting edge retail and interior design both in the UK and South Africa. She then moved to art education after studying at Goddard College, Vermont. She has been teaching Middle School art for the past 11 years at Cairo American College, Maadi.
She started painting 9 years ago and has exhibited in Johannesburg, South Africa (2002) and Cairo, between 2002 and 2006.Her work can be found in private collections in Australia, Canada, China, Dubai, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, UK, and USA.
Julie’s abstracted landscapes and non objective paintings burst with vibrancy, color and movement, capturing the essence of the vitality for life so evident here in Egypt. Her paintings are influenced by her surroundings, weaving together traditional and cultural symbolism with a contemporary twist. Her work is mostly acrylic, on canvas or paper.
She will have work on display at the CSA until June 2010
