Welcome to the Village Gift Shop where shopping is made easy and will soon to be your favorite place to pick up gifts for friends and family. The Village Shop is a unique place full of handcrafted items that are made in Egypt and give a fantastic opportunity to help support local businesses, local artisans, organizations and charities. With the support of different vendors the shop is continually stocked with carefully selected merchandise.

The shop also provides resource books to aid you in your attempts to settle in, because we’ve all been there and a little extra help is always welcome. At certain times of the year, the shop carries a different items catering to your Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and even Ramadan needs.

Charities CSA Supports

Many of our items for sale are made by local charities so every time you buy something you are helping to support
local orphanages, children with special needs and to help local women support themselves and their families.

Kid’s Corner

In the Kid’s Corner there is a selection of books on Egypt, present and past to broaden their knowledge about traditions and culture in an illustrative and fun way. There are t-shirts, pencil cases, whirling dervish tops, puzzles made by the charity Life Vision, animal clips and much more. For kids staying in Egypt, the shop will have a selection of craft items and things to do in the summer.

The Village Shop Supports Local Society

El Bedaya – ‘the beginning’- is an officially registered NGO dedicated to the empowerment of children through education and culture.

Gifts to Take Home

The celebrations of the year have come to an end with summer soon upon us. Saying goodbye and departing from a country you have come to call home is not easy so why not take some of Egypt back with you for your home or your family and friends.

Started with the help of two Dutch Occupational therapists, ‘Life Vision’ is an Egyptian Development Organization, an NGO that helps handicapped people all over Egypt.
